Paying with Your MobilePublished February 1, 2014
A look at the mobile payment methods available for Irish players.
Nowadays people can pay for virtually anything using just their phone. There are a sheer number of things for which you can pay with your mobile phone, from bills and wares to parking tickets and vending machines. In many instances a mobile phone can also serve as a payment method in online casinos.
Many online casinos and their mobile counterparts are warmly accepting of payments carried out via mobile. It's hard to find a more comfortable way to pay than with your mobile, as the process is usually completed in seconds. Let's take a look at the available mobile payment methods Irish players can use.
Visa and MasterCard
The two major credit cards, Visa and MasterCard, allow both operators and consumers to process payments with credit cards using mobile phones. Visa offers consumers basic payment options via mobile including person-to-person payments and payments to vendors.
MasterCard supports several applications with which deposits can be made quickly and easily; MasterPass, MasterCard's new digital wallet, promises to make these processes even faster and easier. MasterCard payers should be equipped with their unique SecureCode at all times. Similar payment methods can be processed with Visa's debit cards including Visa Electron and Delta (Visa Debit).
Both companies also offers payment methods via waving the card (NFC technology) but this has yet to have been implemented with online casinos.
Maestro and Diners Club
As far as payment via debit and credit cards go, Maestro and Diners Club are also available for Irish players. Maestro, being a subsidiary of MasterCard, offers players similar payment methods which they can access through their mobile; as with using MasterCard, it is generally advisable to be familiar with one's SecureCode upon payment.
Diners Club payers can access the card's e-account manager via to pay bills, check balance etc, and they can also use the card's very own mobile app – although the latter does not offer payment options, it does include a handful of other benefits which can help any holders of a Diners Club card.
Neteller is one of the net's prime e-wallets, very popular among online casinos, it allows for a cheap and fast way to make both deposits and withdrawals in online casinos, directly from your mobile.
Similar to Neteller, Irish players can use Ukash which is secure and super-quick. The funds can either come from your credit/debit card or from Ukash money you have loaded.
