Gamblingcompliance.com, one of the leading online providers of regulatory information for the gambling industry, is set to host a conference on the status of gambling in Ireland on October 13-14.
The two-day "Irish Gaming Review", to be held at Clontarf Castle Hotel in the capital city of Dublin, will focus on the recommendations of an Irish Government report into gambling in the "Emerald Isle".
The report, entitled "Regulating Gaming in Ireland" published by the Casino Regulatory Committee, made several key recommendations, including: the establishment of a new regulatory authority; introducing a comprehensive gaming duty and tax regime; stamping out unlicensed gaming activities; and limiting fixed odds betting terminals to casinos or gaming arcades.
Leading Irish law firm A & L Goodbody is co-hosting the conference, which will include expert speakers and panelists from abroad, such as bookmakers and representatives of European gaming boards, as well as representative from across the gaming industry in Ireland.
