Poker players are excitedly anticipating the New Year – and one of the world’s most prestigious live poker events. The Irish Open 2013 tournament will be held during the Easter holiday (from March 29 – April 1) at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin. And this time, sponsor Paddy Power Poker announced, the tournament will be featuring ten side events, up from seven during last year’s event.

"We've continued to listen to the players and what the players want is poker"

According to the online poker site, it has reduced the main event buy-in and increased the side events which now include:

·         a €225 Irish Open Mini Main Event with a 10,000-chip starting stack and a  30-minute clock

·         a €560 six-handed pot-limit Omaha tournament

The new schedule also brings back the popular:

·         the €335 buy-in no-limit hold’em turbo tournament and

·         the €170 no-limit hold’em "scalps" event

Organizers anticipate the €225 buy-in for the Mini Main Event to attract a wide range of budgets and more casual and recreational players. Interested? Take advantage of the following:

·         Weekly online qualification for the 2013 main event at the €176 no-limit hold 'em freeze-out competitions (Sundays at 8 PM). On offer: 3 packages each worth €3,200 – guaranteed

·         €33 buy-in no-limit hold 'em rebuy/add events and €109 buy-in no-limit hold 'em freeze-out tournaments offering main event seats

·         Sole Survivor event for Paddy Power Poker satellite qualifiers. At stake: €50,000 cash plus WSOP 2013 and Irish Open 2014 main event seats.
