Baccarat

Baccarat is believed to have been created in Italy and brought to France during the fifteenth century, during the reign of Charles VIII. The word Baccarat means ‘zero' in French and Italian, and the game itself is believed to be one of the oldest card games that is still played today.

Baccarat betting

Baccarat is a simple game, excellent for those who are just starting to play cards. There are teo types of bets that you can make in Baccarat:

1. Betting on the player
2. Betting on the banker

Game play

1. Cards are dealt face down, first to the player, and then to the banker
2. Each player receives two cards
3. The players' cards are turned over
4. The card counts are calculated and the croupier calls the total
5. Depending on the outcome, the player or banker can draw another card or hold
6. The player with the highest total wins.

Card counts

• Cards 2-9 are worth just that
• Cards 10, J, Q and K are worth 0
• Aces are worth 1
• If the addition of your cards goes above 10, then it's turned into a single digit by taking off 10. E.g. 5+7=12. In this hand, your card value would be 2
