Online Poker Operator to Create 100 Ireland Jobs

One hundred new jobs will be created in Ireland in a big new recruitment drive by a Dublin-based subsidiary of Full Tilt Poker, the world's second-largest online poker room, the Irish Times has reported.

Pocket Kings represents industry growth

Pocket Kings has acted as a service provider to Full Tilt Poker since 2006 and its latest move will bring to 800 the number of people it employs at its Dublin headquarters.

Proving the growth of the online and now mobile poker industry, the company will have more than doubled its employee numbers in the last two years once the new recruits are brought in, according to figures provided by a spokesperson.

Ireland remains attractive for online gambling firms

The Pocket Kings experience demonstrates that Ireland has remained an attractive location for companies in the e-gaming business, even as the ongoing economic crisis refuses to go away.

Some of the new jobs at Pocket Kings are specialised, including fraud analysts for European and other markets, with a number of employees needing a second language such as Italian, German or French.

A company spokesperson said Ireland has always been an attractive location, with "accessibility to a skilled and educated workforce... along with an attractive corporation tax rate."
