Changes Afoot at Paddy Power's Online Casino

Paddy Power aims higher.
By Brett C | Oct 25, 2011

Things are looking good for Ireland’s own Paddy Power online casino. Rumour has it that the highly successful Irish online gaming operator is testing the waters of the American online gambling market, and has applied for a licence as the first European online gambling provider in the state of Nevada (the USA’s Mecca for bricks and mortar casinos).

Mobile Gaming and Online Poker Plans

The word is that as early as November 2011, Paddy Power could receive approval to produce and distribute mobile online gaming devices in Nevada State. In so doing, the company is hoping to take advantage of the recent softening in Nevada’s internet gambling laws, allowing for mobile online gambling in hotel rooms and other areas away from hotels’ own casino floors. Paddy Power’s next step is widely believed to be an application to run a Nevada-based online poker site.

Online Casino Re-launch

Back at home, Irish players at Paddy Power will have noticed a few changes, and definitely for the better. In early October, PP made the move to Playtech casino software, meaning that the casino will now offer a wider variety of games, bonuses and promotions, along with better graphics and more user-friendly navigation. But don’t worry if you have old favourites at the casino – Paddy Power will continue to offer the games it has been using up until now as well.
